HHS instructor attends academy of technology

Zach Dewoody, the business, marketing and information technology instructor at Hulbert High School, attended CareerTech’s New Teacher Academy July 19-21 in Stillwater.

Teachers attended sessions on management systems, curriculum planning, new developments in educational technology, and creating a positive and safe learning environment.

Teachers’ Academy activities are designed to introduce the CareerTech system to new and old teachers and provide them with the foundation they need to start their teaching careers, according to the Vocational and Technological Education Department of Tom Fields of Oklahoma.

The Tenkiller JOM Parents’ Committee will meet

The Tenkiller Johnson-O’Malley School Parent Advisory Committee will meet on Monday, August 8 at 6 p.m. in the Tenkiller School Boardroom.

Anyone interested in or having children at JOM should attend.

Club Pocahontas sponsorship scholarship

The Indian Women’s Pocahontas Club will sponsor 10 Cherokee female students entering college for the 2016-17 academic year with a scholarship or endowment of $ 600 per academic year.

Scholarship applications will be considered on a first come, first served basis for full-time students enrolled in an accredited higher education institution – college, university or vocational school.

Shady Grove will organize meetings

Shady Grove School will be hosting an ice cream meet on Tuesday, August 2, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the school cafeteria.

School will start on Thursday August 4th. Buses will run regularly.

Grand View classes are scheduled to start August 4

Classes at Grand View School will begin on Thursday August 4th. School runs Tuesday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

New students can register on July 27-28 and August 1, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a utility bill), parental photo ID, early care information, if applicable, and any other important information.

The first day of the school year is Tuesday, August 2, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
