The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has awarded Nigeria 100 Online UNWTO Tourism Academy Scholarships for the award of a certificate on the “Introduction to Tourism Course”. tourism industry management” in collaboration with IE University of Spain.

Applications are hereby invited for the UNWTO/IE Tourism Online Academy Scholarships for a one-month programme. Courses are flexible by design and participants can learn at their own pace and convenience throughout the process. Participants get a certificate at the end of the course and the accompanying quiz.

The scholarship has been shared between the ministry and its agencies, the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN) and ANJET, while 30 is reserved for members of the public who meet the following criteria:
i) Candidates must have at least five (5) years of professional experience in tourism, in a tourism organization in the public or private sector;
ii) A tourism student at a Nigerian university or government-approved tourism institute;
iv) Graduate in Tourism; and
iii) Must have access to a computer with internet facility

Steps to redeem the scholarship:
i) Applicants must complete the 100% free online course to be eligible for the scholarship;
ii) Candidates must achieve a mark of at least 60% in the course to be eligible for the certificate;
iii) At the end of the course, candidates must send a screenshot of their course score as evidence to the Ministry through the
designated email;
iv) Only applicants with proof of course completion would receive the scholarship code with which to access the certificate
from IE University;
v) Forward their name, email, phone number and organization/school to the department email address:

no later than June 1, 2022.
vi) The stock exchange code expires on October 31, 2022,
