LAHORE: The Punjab School Education Department (SED) has launched a free online academy for matric and intermediate level students to counter the tuition fee culture in the province.

Punjab School Education Minister Murad Raas on Tuesday announced the launch of Insaf Academy to give students absolutely free access to educational resources.

The resources consist of over 7,000 MCQ quiz lectures and simulations to help students prepare for annual exams effectively without spending a dime on tuition.

The minister also tweeted “Launch of INSAF Academy for our children. More than 7,000 online lectures &; (MCQ) quiz. Absolutely free for 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th graders. Free education for every child at his doorstep”.

Insaf Academy includes content for grades 9, 10, 11, and 12. The registration content would also be available in English and Urdu. Mobile versions of Insaf Academy would also be available on Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Mr. Raas announced that recorded lecturers would be delivered to students who enroll at Insaf Academy while adding that students could self-assess their skills through online tests that will be made available on its website.

He said the government was working to promote the English language in schools and 1,000 master trainers were prepared to meet the targets.

He said the academy would provide an equal playing field for students from different economic and social backgrounds. Earlier in February, the Punjab government announced the establishment of 100 Insaf schools in Lahore this year.

The district education authority had decided to establish 100 Insaf schools in Lahore before the start of a new school term.
