Pearson: & One Young World Launch Online Academy for Young Leaders

Manchester, 8 September 2022 – Today One Young World, the global community for young leaders, and Pearson, the global leader in learning, announce the launch of One Young World Academy – an online learning platform to help empower future young leaders across the global membership. The Academy aims to help young leaders tackle some of the greatest challenges facing our world – focusing on environmental integrity, economic sustainability and a just society.

The first phase of the Academy, which will begin in early 2023, will see learners offered three courses focusing on:

  • Fight against climate change

  • Peacebuilding and conflict prevention

  • Diversity and Inclusion

Courses are practical and project-based, with lectures from global experts on environmental, social and governance issues. Throughout their journey, learners will be supported by colleagues and One Young World Ambassadors serving as project mentors, giving learners advice and feedback on their courses.

These courses are designed to help future leaders acquire the knowledge and skills to solve critical business challenges, leading to results that accelerate impact to build a just and sustainable world. The Academy is an opportunity for companies to empower their workforce to make real change while creating a strong and collaborative learning culture.

From the beginning of 2023, employers will be able to subscribe to the Academy on behalf of their employees. In addition to making a real impact on the job, learners who complete a course will also receive a recognized, blockchain-embedded Credly ID badge that they can add to their LinkedIn profiles and online resumes.
