Free online academy to teach safety protocols to new science teachers
A company that sells science equipment has launched a set of training sessions specifically for new science teachers. The New Teacher Academy, produced by Flinn Scientific, will introduce educators with three years or less of teaching experience in the basics of science security.
Over three 90-minute webinars, attendees will learn about handling protocols, chemical and sample storage, student safety tips, first aid, use of personal protective equipment, regulatory compliance and related topics.
Flinn experts will also be on hand to answer individual questions.
Those who participate will receive a kit with safety related materials, including a $ 25 coupon for Flinn equipment and a “New Science Teacher Certification for Professional Development”.
